The restaurant, with its timber beams and log fires, once the home of an original 16th century forge, is renowned for its high standard of cuisine and service.

We have endeavored to create a menu that we hope will give all our guests a wide range of dishes to enjoy.   The traditional English/French cuisine is all freshly prepared and cooked to order, using only the finest ingredients, and wherever possible, locally grown produce.  We also cater for gluten free and coeliac guests - but please give us a little notice so that we can accommodate all your dietary needs.   

We  excel in those special family occasions where quality of food and service is of utmost importance to our guests.  For example Silver and Ruby Wedding Anniversaries, retirement functions, special birthdays and small, intimate wedding breakfasts.   For more details, please contact Philip and Nicky as all parties are individually tailored to your needs. 

We do understand that sometimes guests do not wish to have a full 3-course dinner every night that they stay with us.  We will be happy to offer a 2-course option for any resident guests wishing to dine with us on Monday - Thursday nights. 

The hotel also has a small welcoming bar and lounge for you to sit and enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés.  On cold winter nights enjoy the open log fires in both the bar and restaurant.  

Reservations for dinner are advisable and the hotel operates a smart/casual dress code.  To reflect this we would respectfully ask no jeans, shorts or sports wear are to be worn in the restaurant during evening service.   Our hotel is non-smoking for your comfort.  We also ask all diners to turn off their mobile phones whilst in the restaurant.  

Our restaurant opening time is 6.30pm with last orders at 7.30pm for a sit down at 8pm.

Outside Private Catering

A number of our regular guests have requested that we provide an outside catering service for their special occasion.  We have been able to oblige on each occasion, much to their satisfaction.  If you were wanting to discuss an outside catering event,  please do not hesitate to contact us.
