The Olde Forge Hotel

The Olde Forge Hotel offers six comfortable bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The accommodation comprises of 5 double rooms and 1 twin-bedded room.

All the hotel bedrooms underwent complete refurbishment in 2009 and the public rooms downstairs in 2010. Although our bedrooms are not on the "large size", they have all been tastefully decorated and now contain new beds, furniture, curtains and linen throughout, as well as direct dial telephone, remote control flat screen television, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers and heated towel rails. For those people unable to switch off from their busy lives, we also have free internet connection in every room!

Our guest information folder in each of the bedrooms is packed full of suggestions and ideas to ensure that your visit to East Sussex will not leave you short of things to do. Alternatively take time to visit our Local Attractions page where we regularly update the already long list of places of interest, local attractions, local events and all sorts of other activities.

The hotel has its own private car park so there is no need to worry about parking tickets or charges!!

The Olde Forge Hotel & Restaurant is now offering an Exclusive Use Service, which allows you and your guests to reserve the whole hotel as a private venue.

We excel in those special family occasions where the quality of food and service is of utmost importance to our guests. For example, silver and ruby wedding anniversaries, retirement functions, special birthdays and small, intimate wedding breakfasts. This has proved particularly popular for families over the Christmas period and New Year celebrations.

Brilliant exclusive use over Christmas 2010. My whole family and my sister's whole family have always spent Christmas together and despite the death of our father earlier this year we were determined to still have a family Christmas together. We were looking for a small family run hotel that would look after us superbly (including my sister's dog!) and could be exclusively for our use. We were delighted to find the The Olde Forge Hotel and booked in for 4 nights over Christmas. The food and hospitality provided couldn't be faulted and nothing seemed too much trouble to either Philip or Nicky. It was bitterly cold this winter but the warm log fires in both the cosy bar area and in the dining room made the whole place wonderfully welcoming and relaxing.

A huge thank you to Philip and Nicky for making our first Christmas without our father such a lovely time.

My niece booked the whole hotel for family to stay for 2 nights as she was getting married in Herstmonceux Castle nearby. On the Friday night we had a private family dinner in the restaurant at the Olde Forge and the food was really, really good. I had the rack of lamb and it was cooked to perfection.

Everyone's food looked great and there were very few scraps going back to the kitchen. The owner/ Hosts Nicky & Philip treat you like its their home and you feel very welcome. Those who stayed said the rooms were clean and very comfortable. We would certainly recommend this establishment. Thank you for making our weekend so special.

We, as a family, greatly enjoyed our stay and the fact that we had exclusive use of the hotel was an added bonus. We had not expected that. You not only made us very welcome and comfortable, you were a great host and hostess. Our meal on the Friday evening was superlative and we are only now recovering from all those huge and delicious breakfasts.

Lovely location, excellent service, fantastic food, very friendly and relaxed atmosphere and just perfect for our family break. We had exclusive use of the hotel which was even better. Overall, it was really very good value for money. The restaurant menu was really good and the quality of food was consistently high and much nicer than in most restaurants I've been to. The family who run the hotel are very friendly and willing to provide recommendations and advice about the local area. The hotel is well-placed for access to Eastbourne and for many beautiful villages nearby, as well as Herstmonceux Castle. We'd certainly go again... Thank you for helping to make our visit such great fun.
